John C. Crosby once said, “Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” That is exactly what we strive to do in BYP Junior. Four times a week we help tutor and mentor children, ages 5-12 years, at H.O.S.T. (Heritage Out of School Time). We are more than just a few extra bodies roaming the halls of the Good Shepherd site. We are a tutor to help with homework, a playmate to do activities with, and a most importantly, a constant support system. Sometimes is can be challenging, but at the end of the day, it’s worth it.
